This site is run by Trevor Berry, a tattoo artist working in Seattle, Washington. This page explains what information I collect through tberrytattoos.com, why I collect it, and what I do with it. It is written in plain language on purpose.
If you have a question about anything here, email me at tberrytattoos@gmail.com.
When you send a consultation request, I collect what you type into the form:
– Your name
– Your email address
– Your phone number, if you choose to give it
– A description of the tattoo idea
– Approximate size and placement on your body
– Whether you want black and grey or color
– Your budget range
– Any reference images you upload
– Your confirmation that you are 18 or older
You do not have to fill in the optional fields. The required ones are the ones I need in order to give you a useful answer about your piece.
Automatically, my web host records standard technical information every time anyone visits a website, including this one: IP address, browser type, the pages visited, and the time of the visit. This is normal server activity and is used for security and to keep the site running.
I do not use analytics software. I do not use advertising trackers. I do not run ads on this site.
The consultation form exists for one reason: so I can understand what you want tattooed and reply to you about it. That is the only thing I use your information for.
Placement and size tell me what is physically possible and how long the piece will take. Reference images tell me what you have in mind. Your budget range tells me whether we are in the same neighborhood before either of us spends time on it.
Me. That’s the intent, and in practice it’s close to true, but a few services necessarily handle the data in order to deliver it: my web host, which stores the site and the form submissions, and my email provider, which delivers your request to my inbox and sends you a confirmation that it arrived.
I do not sell your information. I do not trade it, rent it, or hand it to marketers. I do not add you to a mailing list because you asked about a tattoo.
I may have to disclose information if the law requires it, but that is the only exception.
Images you upload are stored on the website’s server in a protected folder, not published anywhere on the site. They are not visible to other visitors.
If I want to post a photo of your finished tattoo on the site or on Instagram, I will ask you first. That is a separate conversation and your reference photos are not part of it.
I keep consultation requests for as long as they are useful, which usually means until the piece is finished, or until it is clear the project is not happening.
If you want your request and any uploaded images deleted sooner, email me and I will delete them.
You can ask me to:
– Tell you what information I have about you
– Correct anything that is wrong
– Delete your consultation request and any images you sent
Email tberrytattoos@gmail.com and I will take care of it. I may need to confirm you are the person who sent the original request before I act on it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy law. If you think that applies to you, say so in your email and I will handle it accordingly.
This site is for adults. I do not tattoo anyone under 18, I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and the consultation form requires you to confirm your age before it will submit.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has sent me information through this site, email me and I will delete it.
The consultation form does not ask about your health, and you should not include medical details in it. If something about your health is relevant to your tattoo, we will talk about it in person before any needle touches you, and that conversation stays between us.
The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Uploaded files are kept in a directory that is not publicly browsable. I keep the site’s software updated.
No website is perfectly secure and I am not going to pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects your information, I will tell you.
The site links to my Instagram profile and to a map of the shop. Once you leave tberrytattoos.com, those companies’ privacy policies apply, not mine.
If I change how this site handles information, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
